Privacy Policy

This Website

huo.life is a set of static pages. It does not ask you for anything, store anything about you, or set any cookies. There is no analytics and no tracking of any kind.

Three things are worth naming, because they involve someone other than us:

• Hosting (Netlify) — like every web server, it keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, browser, which page) for operational and security purposes. We do not analyse them or connect them to anyone.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces load from Google's CDN, so your browser makes a request to Google, which reveals your IP address to them. Nothing else is sent.
• GitHub — the download buttons point at GitHub Releases. Following one takes you to GitHub, and their terms apply from that point.

We hold no email addresses, no mailing list and no visitor records of our own.

VoiceInput (Mac & Windows)

Your voice and your text never leave your computer. Speech recognition, meeting transcription and speaker separation all run as local models on your own machine. There is no account and no server — the app works with the network switched off.

• Recognition models are downloaded once, the first time you run the app, from Hugging Face and GitHub. After that the app never needs the network to recognise anything.
• Checking for updates is the only routine outbound request: once a day the app asks GitHub whether a newer version has been released. It sends nothing about you or your usage, and it can be turned off in Settings.
• Dictation history is off by default. Turned on, it is stored encrypted on your own machine — in your Keychain on macOS, under Windows account protection on Windows.
• Meeting recordings — the audio and the transcript are written to a folder on your own machine and stay there until you delete them.

Huo Life

All data you create in Huo Life — activity logs, mood entries, habit records, health metrics, receipts, photos, audio recordings, and settings — is stored locally on your device using the browser's localStorage and IndexedDB APIs. We do not operate any servers that receive or store your data.

Backups are manual: the app exports your data as a ZIP file to wherever you choose. We never see or touch those files.

The optional AI features (receipt scanning, voice transcription, life insights) require you to supply your own API key from a provider such as Google Gemini; requests go directly from your device to that provider under their terms, not through us. The optional weather feature requests your approximate location to fetch a forecast from Open-Meteo, and that location is not stored or passed anywhere else.

Camera & Microphone

Where an app asks for the camera or the microphone, it is for a feature you started — photographing a receipt, recording a meeting. The capture is handled on your device and nothing is streamed anywhere.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Huo Life's Art Vault lets a parent photograph a child's artwork — those photos are stored locally on the parent's device only.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the apps evolve. Changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Since we hold no email addresses, there is no way for us to notify you — checking this page occasionally is the only way.
