Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Your data stays on your device. Huo Life does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. We don't have accounts, analytics, or tracking.

Data Storage

All data you create in Huo Life — activity logs, mood entries, habit records, health metrics, receipts, photos, audio recordings, and settings — is stored locally on your device using the browser's localStorage and IndexedDB APIs.

We do not operate any servers that receive or store your data.

Backup & Restore

Huo Life provides a manual backup feature that exports your data as a ZIP file to your device. You choose where to save it — iCloud Drive, a USB drive, an email to yourself, or anywhere else. We never see or touch your backup files.

AI Features (Optional)

Huo Life offers optional AI-powered features including:

Receipt scanning — uses AI to extract text from receipt photos
Voice transcription — converts voice recordings to text
Life insights — analyzes patterns in your logged data

These features require you to provide your own API key from a supported AI provider (e.g., Google Gemini). When you use these features:

Data is sent directly from your device to the AI provider
Huo Life does not relay, cache, or store any data in transit
Your API key is stored locally on your device only
You can remove your API key at any time in Settings

Please review the privacy policy of your chosen AI provider to understand how they handle data.

Camera & Microphone

Huo Life may request access to your device's camera (for receipt scanning and the Art Vault) and microphone (for voice reflections). These permissions are used exclusively within the app and no captured media is transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly use an AI feature as described above.

Location (Optional)

If you enable the weather feature, Huo Life requests your approximate location to fetch current weather data from the Open-Meteo API (a free, open-source weather service). Your location is not stored or transmitted to any other service.

Third-Party Services

Huo Life uses the following third-party services:

Open-Meteo — weather data (only if weather feature is enabled)
Google Fonts — typography (loaded via CDN)
OpenWeatherMap — weather icons (display only)

No personal data is shared with these services beyond what is technically necessary for their function.

Children's Privacy

Huo Life does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The Art Vault feature allows parents to photograph children's artwork — these photos are stored locally on the parent's device only.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Since Huo Life doesn't collect email addresses, we recommend checking this page periodically.
